Be ready for higher gas prices -- put an Aerolid on your truck.

Aerolid, a truck cap designed with aerodynamic principles in mind by Brett Herndon.

If you are interested in backing the production of the Aerolids or in purchasing one, he may be contacted via the contact form or by e-mail (aerolid@aol.com) or phone (501-821-7216)

Smoke shows smooth air in the boundary layer over the Aerolid.  Slight fluctuations in smoke is caused by the technician handling the smoke wand standing in the upstream air.  Wind tunnel test data provided a 10% reduction in aerodynamic drag over a baseline truck with no camper shell and the tailgate up.

Over the road testing has shown an increase in fuel efficiency of the test truck going from 18 mpg with an open bed to 22 mpg with the Aerolid attached while running at highway speed.
